Head coach of Ghana, Otto Addo has held talks with German-born forward Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer to play for the Black Stars, Kickgh.com can confirm.
The budding striker, who plays for Hamburg SV in German Bundesliga 2, has been involved in just two matches for the Dinosaurs, having joined them from Dynamo Dresden on a four-year contract for a transfer fee of €1.2 million.
Königsdörffer netted his first goal for HSV in their match against Hadjuk Split before providing an assist in the 4-3 victory over Greek side - Aris Thessaloniki.
However, coach Otto Addo has taken the initiative to convince the 20-year-old to represent Ghana at the international level ahead of the looming 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Capped by Germany at the juvenile level, Königsdörffer is eligible to feature for the Black Stars as well through his paternal lineage.
During the 2021/22 season, he made 34 appearances in all competitions, scored 5 goals and annexed five assists as Dresden finished 16th before succumbing to Kaiserslautern in the fierce relegation play-off, and thus relegated to the 3. Liga, which is the third division in Germany.
