TSG Hoffenheim close in on Ghana's Alexander Djiku

The German top-flight side are set to secure the signature of the 27-year-old defender having had their bid over his services being accepted by his parent club in the ongoing transfer window 

Bundesliga side TSG Hoffenheim 1899 are closing in on Ghana international centre-back Alexander Djiku from French Ligue 1 campaigners RC Strasbourg, according to multiple reports from the French press.

The former Bastia youth star impressive outings last term caught the attention of many clubs across Europe - with Spanish giants FC Sevilla and Ligue 1 outfit Stade Rennes - all currently gunning for his services in the ongoing transfer window.

However, the Die Kraichgauer are now believed to be the front-runners over his chase as they are set to tie him down on a four-year deal after agreeing terms with his parent club thus far.

Djiku's current deal with RC Strasbourg will expire in June 2023 and per his transfermarkt valuation, suitors must cough up €10m if they are to land him this summer.

The Montpelier-born stopper has been capped 17 times by Ghana at the senior national team level, the Black Stars with a goal to his name.

Given his top form, he will surely be at the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament scheduled to take place in Qatar later this year.
