Ghana pacey winger Kamaldeen Sulemana made his first-ever English Premier League debut for Southampton against Brentford FC on Saturday afternoon.

Sulemana, who joined the Saints from Stade Rennes on the winter transfer deadline day, was introduced to make his debut for the club in the second half.

He was introduced after the break as replacement for Norwegian international Mohamed Elyounoussi.

Brentford went up to seventh in the Premier League table, heaping more pressure on bottom club Southampton with a 7-0 comfortable win at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Ben Mee put the hosts in front, meeting Bryan Mbuemo's cross with a thumping header in the 41st minute.

And three minutes later Brentford doubled their lead after Mbuemo dispatched Yoane Wissa's cut-back into the bottom corner.

Mathias Jensen added a third nine minutes from time, nodding in a Rico Henry cross from close range.

Ghana defender Salisu Mohammed enjoyed the entire duration of the game for Southampton.

Sulemana joined Southampton in a club record fee of £22.5 million from French Ligue 1 outfit Stade Rennes.
