Ghanaian striker Kelvin Yeboah found the net for Minnesota United, but his goal was insufficient to prevent a 2-1 defeat to FC Cincinnati in their Major League Soccer clash on Thursday.

Yeboah, who joined Minnesota United in July, played the full match at Allianz Field and was a standout performer despite the loss. FC Cincinnati initially took the lead with Yuya Kubo scoring in the 34th minute, assisted by Chidozie Awaziem. Luca Orellano then extended Cincinnati’s lead just before halftime.

In the second half, Yeboah pulled one back for Minnesota United by converting a penalty in the 54th minute. However, his efforts were not enough to secure a comeback for his team, who fell short at home.

The 24-year-old forward has now netted three goals and provided one assist in his three appearances for Minnesota United. Yeboah, who has previously represented Italy at the U21 level, remains eligible to switch allegiance and play for the Black Stars.

Yeboah will be aiming to maintain his impressive form for the remainder of the MLS season.
