Former Arsenal striker, Ian Wright, is urging England manager Gareth Southgate to consider calling up Kobbie Mainoo for the national team's next international assignment.
The English-born Ghanaian has been making waves with Manchester United, delivering standout performances in their recent victories, including the win against Luton Town.
Mainoo, who has represented England at youth levels, remains eligible to play for Ghana, but the Ghanaian FA must complete the necessary procedures for his international switch.
While efforts are underway from the Ghanaian federation, Wright believes England should act swiftly to secure Mainoo's services.
"Kobbie Mainoo has to be in the next England squad. Such maturity in chaotic conditions that we've not seen from an England player in a long time. Impressed every time I watch him," Wright expressed on social media after Sunday's game.
Mainoo has already made a significant impact for Manchester United, scoring two senior goals, including a crucial Premier League goal against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.
