Manchester United in a quest to fend off interest from other clubs are planning to extend the contract of young sensation Kobbie Mainoo in the next coming weeks.
The 19-year-old midfielder is a Man United Academy graduate and signed his professional contract with the club in May 2022 but his performance in last summer's preseason caught the good eyes of manager Erik Ten Haag who made him an integral member of his squad.
In his debut senior season, the English born of Ghanaian descent despite battling injuries in the early stages, netted 5 goals and provided 3 assists in 35 appearances for the Red Devils.
He climaxed his season on a higher note having scored against city rivals Manchester City in the Emirates FA Cup final weeks ago at the Wembley Stadium.
The mercurial playmaker has now popped up on the radar of lots of European clubs with variety of reports linking him to Real Madrid.
In a quest to fend off all of that, Manchester United are expected to offer him a new contract which will keep him at the club for a very long time since they believe he will be an integral member of the squad from the 2024/25 season henceforth.
Kobbie Mainoo, despite having his first senior England call up and debut against Brazil in March, couldn't make manager Gareth Southgate's recent provisional squad for the upcoming Euros.
