Ghanaian international, Kudus Mohammed has admitted he wasn't really happy when he was denied a move to Everton but is now enjoying life at Ajax.
The 22 year old since joining the Jews in the summer of 2020 has been sensational and has painted himself as one of the supporter's favourite at the Johan Cruijff Arena.
But at some point, he was struggling to command playing time and opted to leave and was on the radar of English Premier League side Everton but the deal couldn't go through.
Speaking in an interview, the mercurial midfielder has confessed he was very disappointed when he wasn't permitted to join Everton but is now focused in Amsterdam.
“The fact that Ajax blocked a transfer to Everton last summer disappointed me. I thought it was time for a new chapter in my career, because I didn't play here,” Kudus Mohammed told Telegraaf.nl
“But the moment the transfer market closed, my full focus was back on Ajax. The only reason I wanted to leave before that was my reserve role."
Mohammed has been involved in 23 goals for Ajax across all competitions this season, scoring 18 times and providing five assists.
He will hope to continue with his top scoring when they host leaders Feyenoord in a top of table clash on Sunday.
