Ghanaian playmaker, Kudus Mohammed has dug deep into the injury he sustained early this year that nearly made him miss the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The West Ham United playmaker joined the Black Stars camp late ahead of the AFCON as he had to nursed himself till he was fully ready after picking a late injury with few days to the start of the competition.

Despite the setbacks, the mercurial playmaker made his presence well felt in Cote D'Ivoire, having netted three goals in two matches for the Black Stars but wasn't enough as the team exited the tournament in the group stage.

Recounting the moment in Cote D'Ivoire, Kudus, stated he wasn't fully fit at all but still had to manage to play and sake of that he wasn't at his best and hopes to do that in subsequent tourneys.

“As human beings, we need some time to shake stuff off,” Kudus Mohammed told The Guardian Newspaper.

“I was injured before Afcon and had to put all my effort into being there to help the team. It was my first Afcon and it didn’t go as planned.

"When you go back straight into playing nobody ever gives you time to change gear. It had an impact because it was a big disappointment,"

He couldn't make Ghana's squad recently for the international friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda, also because of a minor knock.
