Ghana international Kudus Mohammed will be playing under new coach Maurice Steijn at Ajax for the 2023/24 season's campaign.
Dutch Eredivisie giants took to their official channels to announce the appointment of Maurice Steijn as replacement for John Heitinga.
The coach, who comes over from Sparta Rotterdam, signed a contract with the Johan Cruijff ArenA outfit until the summer of 2026.
After a lengthy search, Ajax has finally been able to appoint a new trainer. After the departure of Erik ten Hag to Manchester United, Alfred Schreuder took over as manager of the Amsterdam club last season.
Schreuder started the 2022/23 season and he was sacked in January following a string of poor performances. His replacement, John Heitinga, started well as well but finished the season miserably.
Last season, Steijn finished sixth with Sparta Rotterdam. Maurice Steijn's backroom staff includes Saïd Bakkati (assistant coach), Max Lesser (head of analysis), Richard Witschge and Anton Scheutjens (goalkeeper coaches), and Alessandro Schoenmaker (performance coach).
