Peterborough United head coach Darren Ferguson has cautioned the media speculation over the future of Kwame Poku "needs to stop" adding that the in-form winger "won't be going" anywhere during the transfer window.

Poku, who scored twice in Posh's 4-1 win at Shrewsbury Town in League One on Saturday, has been linked with a potential move to the Championship ahead of the deadline on 31 August.

The 19-year-old is regarded as one of the highly-rated wingers in the English League One following his explosive performances at Peterborough United where he has scored 20 goals and provided 22 assists in 119 matches.

But when asked whether it might be difficult to keep the Ghanaian, Ferguson was adamant that it would not be.

"No, he won't be going. It's that simple really," he told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.

"There's been a lot of speculation about him and Hector [Kyprianou] but it has to stop.

"I understand the question, but they need to concentrate on their football and trying to have a successful season."

Poku, who was born to Ghanaian parents in England, has already capped for the senior national team of Ghana.
