The English titans duo are reportedly leading the race to land the signature of the 21-year-old defender from the French elite side in the summer transfer window

Premier League superpowers Liverpool and Manchester City are currently the front-runners to secure the services of Ghanaian defender Samson Baidoo from Ligue 1 outfit RC Lens, an emerging report has indicated.

The promising centre-back, who joined up with the Les Sang et Or on a five-year deal from Austrian Bundesliga giants RB Salzburg in the summer of 2025, has been stupendous in his debut season in the French top-flight so far this term.

According to news outlet SportsBoom, Liverpool and Man City are set to lock horns over the pursuit of the Ghana-prospect defender as they bid to reinforce their defensive department with his acquisition in the summer.

lt's believed that, both interested suitors are ready to fork out an amount of €45m-€55m for the former FC Liefering youth star, with those in charge of the Anfield Stadium eager to sign him as a replacement for French international Ibrahima Konaté if he depart in the summer, while the Etihad Stadium outfit are keen on recruiting him as a long-term back-up for their backline options.

Aside Liverpool and Man City, other European suitors including Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan, West Ham and Crystal Palace are all currently in the queue for his services next season.

Baidoo has so far featured in 20 games by scoring and assisting twice for RC Lens across all competitions in this ongoing football campaign.

Having been cap-tied once by the Austrian senior national team, Baidoo still remains fit to switch nationality allegiance and represent Ghana on the international stage.
