Ghanaian young-sensation, Clinton Dombila made a decisive impact off the bench to help FC Ararat Yerevan secure an important 2-1 away win over FC Van in Round 17 of the Armenian Premier League.

The 20-year-old played only eight minutes in the game having come on for Adama Meite and quickly influenced the outcome of the match.

With the game firmly balanced, Dombila was picked with a long pass in the box but was caught by his marker, winning a crucial penalty for his side late in the match.

His teammate Kalifala Doumbia stepped up to convert the spot kick in the 97th minute, completing his brace and sealing the comeback victory for Ararat.

Doumbia had earlier equalised in the 85th minute after Maurinho had given the home side the lead in the 77th minute.

Dombila’s late contribution proved vital as Ararat recorded their first win of the season in the Armenian top flight.

The promising Ghanaian defender will now be hoping to earn more playing time when Ararat face Gandzasar in their next league game.
