The promising teenage sensation of Ghanaian heritage has revealed his aspiration of representing the west African powerhouse on the international stage in the near future
London-born Ghanaian teen Bright Siaw has disclosed his intentions to switch international allegiances to play for the Ghana national football team at the international level.
The 19-year-old winger, currently on the books of English League Two side Barnet Football Club, is eager to don the national colours of the four-time African champions over his international football career in the not-too-distant future.
lnteracting with KICKGH from his base in London, the highly-rated youth star clinical finisher says to represent the country of his root is going to be a no mean feat for himself and his family in his footballing career.
He said: ''With regards to my international future, l would say representing Ghana at the international level remains my greatest ambition as a younger player. Since l was growing up, it has been my ultimate dream to play for my country of root especially seeing the likes of players born here [England] representing the Ghana national team. So, l am still forging my way to be able to one day realise this long-held dream of mine and l know very soon it shall come to pass as l continue to work towards achieving that ambition over my international football career.''
With the 2027 CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) set to be hosted by Ghana, the promising prodigy says it would be ideal to start with the Ghana U20 national team in this tournament as he qualifies to feature in the contest given his age group.
''l have read that the next U20 AFCON will be held in Ghana and it would be perfect to start with the Black Satellites team in this tournament because l am still below the required age that is needed to participate in the competition,'' the versatile wing-forward intimated.
Given his impressive performances with the Barnet U18 so far, the 19-year-old has been drafted into the First Team of The Bees for the 2026/27 campaign.
