Ghanaian international Majeed Ashimeru started his 2022/23 season with a goal for RSC Anderlecht in their Belgian Jupilier League opener against KV Oostende on Sunday afternoon.

RSC Anderlecht recorded a 2-0 home win over KV Oostende to secure a win in the 2022/23 Belgian top-flight league opening game at the Lotto Park.

The 24-year-old registered the opener for the Purple lads with a brilliant strike after making a good use of Adrien Trebel's pass on the 39th minute of the game.
 
RSC Anderlecht kept their 1-0 lead courtesy the former Red Bull Salzburg midfielder to end the first half of the fixture.
 
Ashimeru was substituted by his teammate Kristoffer Olsson on the 76th minute before his compatriot Francis Amuzu got a nod to taste minutes in the dying embers of the game.
 
On the 88th minute, Portuguese centre-forward Fabio Silva sealed RSC Anderlecht home win with his spectacular strike.
 
Ashimeru is expecting to earn lot of starting berth at RSC Anderlecht to attract interest from the Black Stars of Ghana technical team ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
