Ghanaian international, Majeed Ashimeru made the Black Stars provisional World Cup squad but couldn't make the final cut which was announced couple of days ago.
The 25 year has been an integral figure at Belgian giants Anderlecht in the season having contributed four goals in 11 matches so far in the 2022/23 football season.
Speaking to Gary Al Smith on Joy Prime's Star Connect, the ex- WAFA midfielder strongly believes the Black Stars will excel at the World Cup which commences this weekend.
“We have the quality so I am really confident we can do something," he said on Joy Prime's Star Connect.
"Though we have a young squad, I am not afraid because there are so many surprises.
“Everything can happen so we just have to stay focused.”

Ghana will battle it out with one time European champions Portugal in their opening game on Thursday, November 20, at the Stadium 947 in Doha.
