Kickgh.com can exclusively reveal that Belgium born Ghanaian winger, Jeremy Doku has told Rennes that he wants to join Manchester City, having already agreed personal terms with the Premier League champions.
The Belgian flash' as he's fondly called has been linked with loads of clubs this summer including PL side's Chelsea and West Ham, with the latter making a juicy offer to Rennes.
But Doku has made it clear to Rennes that he's not looking to move anywhere other than City, insisting that the Etihad Stadium is the only destination for him to ply his trade and develop into a world star.
KickGH can confirm that talks have already been held with club and player agreeing to personal terms with a five-year deal on the loop to be finalised.
Doku has been in the fold of Rennes for three seasons and has developed himself as one of the most exciting young hotshots in Europe.
With Doku's higher price tag, KickGH can unfold that Rennes are looking to settle on a deal worth close to €60m (£51.4m) which would overshadow their previous club-record fee of €35m sales of Nayef Aguerd to West Ham and Ousmane Dembele to Borussia Dortmund.
Doku, 21, was not involved in Rennes 1-1 weekend draw stalemate with RC Lens, with head coach Bruno Genesio fuelling speculation after the game by saying: "If he didn't start [this week], even though he was our best player last week, I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions."
