Ghana youth international Matthew Cudjoe opened his scoring account for the season after finding the net in Bnei Sakhnin’s 2-0 victory over Hapoel Petah Tikva in the Israeli Ligat ha’Al on Saturday.
The 22-year-old attacker doubled Sakhnin’s advantage with a composed finish inside the penalty area after defender Leeroy Owusu delivered a well-timed pass from the right flank.
Cudjoe calmly sent a low effort into the bottom corner to seal his first goal of the campaign and cap off an impressive individual display.
The goal came during his seventh league appearance of the season, providing a timely boost for both the player and his club.
Bnei Sakhnin had taken the lead in the 30th minute through Ahmad Salman, who converted to put the hosts ahead before Cudjoe added the second after the break.
The Ghanaian forward’s contribution helped Sakhnin secure maximum points while keeping a clean sheet, as they continue their push in the Israeli top flight.
Cudjoe will now hope his breakthrough goal marks the beginning of a productive run in front of goal as the season progresses.
