Former Ampem Darkoa Ladies FC skipper, Mavis Owusu has completed a move to Saudi Arabian heavyweights Al Hilal ahead of the 2023/24 football season and feels very elated for the switch. 

The Black Queens defender is joining after a fruitful negotiations with details of the contract yet to be revealed.

Mavis, after the move, expressed a profound gratitude to the management of Ampem Darkoa Ladies and extended some to her teammates for their immense support.

"I'm happy to announce my new journey at Al Hilal in Saudi league. I’m grateful to God and entire Ampem Darkoa Ladies managements and teammates," Owusu wrote on social media after completing her move.

Mavis Owusu has been one of the integral and influential members of Ampem Darkoa Ladies and played another vital role in helping them clinch the domestic double last season.

On top of that, the versatile defender also led them to conquer West Africa after finishing as champions of the WAFU Zone B qualifiers to make it to their first ever CAF Women's Champions League.

She is joining her countrywomen Elizabeth Addo and current Black Queens team Cynthia Konlan at Al Hilal.

Mavis Owusu wasn't part of coach Nora Hauptle's last squad for the 2024 WAFCON qualifiers double header just recently against Rwanda.
