Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has disclosed Thomas Partey isn't fully ready for the game against Everton on Saturday since he hasn't fully recovered from his recent-sustained injury.
The 28 year old midfielder suffered a knock against Manchester City in the English FA Cup last week and was subbed off right at the start of the second half with his position taken by Albert Sambi Lokonga- who is currently on loan at Crystal Palace.
The injury wasn't anything serious but the Gunners are still sweating on his early return for their subsequent matches to preserve their lead and probably end their almost twenty year hoodoo of not winning the Premier League.
Speaking in the pre-match presser, the Spanish gaffer stated he hasn't fully recovered and could be doubtful for the clash against the Toffees.
"That one is still a doubt. Let’s see today how he comes in, and whether he’s able to train with the team or not, and we’ll make the decision on that."
“It’s not ruled out and it’s nothing very significant, but it was significant enough to get him out of the (City) game, which for Thomas is a bit unusual, but hopefully he will be fine.”
Arsenal are still leading the league with 50 points after 19 matches, and are five points adrift second-place and holders Manchester City.
Arsenal will take on Everton at lunch time kickoff on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at the Goudison Park.
