Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus has been crowned the winner of the 2023/24 UEFA Europa League Goal of the Season award for his remarkable strike against Freiburg.

The official UEFA account took to social media on Wednesday to announce Kudus as the recipient of the prestigious award, hailing his goal as nothing short of extraordinary.

The award-winning goal came during West Ham United's emphatic 5-0 victory at the London Stadium on Thursday, March 14, 2024. Kudus, who netted a brace in the match, unleashed a stunning strike from his own half, dribbled past three players, and coolly slotted the ball home with his weaker foot.

Kudus's sensational goal was also recognized as the Europa League Goal of the Month for March, further solidifying its status as a moment of brilliance.

Additionally, the same goal against Freiburg earned Kudus the West Ham Goal of the Season award and was hailed as the highest-rated goal by Whoscored.com.

The Ghanaian midfielder wrapped up his debut season at West Ham with an impressive tally of 20 goal contributions in 45 matches, including 14 goals and 6 assists across all competitions.
