The French top division side have released the 23-year-old Ghanaian centre-forward ahead of the closure of the ongoing January transfer window


Ghanaian forward Kelvin Yeboah has had his season-long loan deal with French Ligue 1 side Montpellier FC annulled, with another loan spell elsewhere reportedly on the cards this winter.

The former FC Augsburg loanee now returns to his ltalian parent club Genoa CFC following the termination of his loan deal by the French top-flight outfit.

A statement confirming the release of Kelvin Yeboah read via the club's official website: "The MHSC today announced the departure of Kelvin Yeboah. The ltalian striker's loan was terminated today. Since his signing last summer, Kelvin has worn the Montpellier jersey 16 times, scoring a goal on January 6 in Amiens in the Coupe de France.The MHSC wishes Kelvin Yeboah good luck for the rest of his career."

According to Italian tabloid La Gazzetta dello Sport, the former SK Sturm Graz striker would be loaned to Belgian Pro League club Standard Liege for the rest of the 2023/24 football campaign.

His contract with Genoa CFC runs until June 30, 2026 having joined them during the summer transfer window in 2022.

Yeboah still remains eligible to switch allegiance and represent Ghana at the international level despite playing for the ltaly U21 national youth team.
