Former Asante Kotoko and Ghana youth goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim is aiming high after a remarkable debut season with Ethiopian Coffee Sporting Club, where he has reignited his career and set his sights on Europe’s grandest stage — the UEFA Champions League.

Since joining the Addis Ababa-based club in August 2024, Danlad has firmly established himself as the team’s undisputed number one. He featured in all 33 league matches during the 2024/25 Ethiopian Premier League campaign, conceding just 16 goals and keeping an impressive 21 clean sheets — a remarkable 63% clean sheet rate that underpinned Ethiopian Coffee’s defensive solidity.

Among his standout moments was a clean sheet on his debut in a goalless draw against Ethio Electric SC, where his sharp reflexes and composure commanded attention. Throughout the season, his performances earned him praise from fans and pundits alike, elevating his reputation far beyond Ethiopian borders.

Speaking to GTV Sports Plus, the 23-year-old goalkeeper revealed his ultimate ambition:

“My dream is to play in the UEFA Champions League.”

Danlad’s move to Ethiopia followed his departure from Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko, where he rose through the ranks to become first-choice goalkeeper before facing challenges in his final campaign.

The former Black Starlets and Black Satellites standout, who also has senior Black Stars appearances to his name, remains one of Ghana’s most promising goalkeeping talents.
