The Pearl of the South have parted company with the experienced Ghanaian duo following their demotion to the Dutch Eerste Divisie for the 2026-27 football season

Relegated Eredivisie club NAC Breda have released Ghanaian international duo Denis Odoi and André Ayew after the expiration of their short-term deal this summer, the club have confirmed.

Ayew, 36, joined the Rat Verlegh Stadion outfit in January 2026 and took in 16 appearances by scoring once for NAC in this current campaign. On the other hand, Odoi, 37, joined the Breda-based club in November 2025 and had already managed 19 games across all contests in the Dutch top-flight this term.

NAC Breda refused to exercise their option of extending their stay beyond this upcoming summer after snapping up their services on a free transfer during the second half of the season.

A statement confirming the release of the veteran duo read: ''Both experienced players signed contracts during this season until the end of the 2025/2026 season. In those agreements, NAC included a unilateral club option for a potential extra season with the Bredase club.

''The versatile Odoi defended NAC's club colors in 19 official matches. The defender was signed on a free transfer in November 2025, at a time when NAC was plagued by injuries in the center of the defense.

''Ghanaian record international Ayew made 16 appearances in the yellow and black, scoring once. He scored that goal in the home match against Feyenoord (3-3). Ayew joined Breda on a free transfer in January to provide an additional ball-holding option up front.''
