Major League Soccer outfit Nashville SC have submitted an official bid for Ghanaian centre-back Maxwell Woledzi, as the club looks to bolster its defensive options ahead of the new campaign, sources have revealed.
The 24-year-old, who came through Ghana’s Right to Dream Academy, has been one of the standout defenders in Norway this season with Fredrikstad FK. His consistent performances have drawn interest from multiple European sides, but Nashville are now leading the chase as they push to bring him to the United States.
Woledzi played a key role in Fredrikstad’s memorable season, helping them to win their first Norway Cup title in 18 years and earning a spot in the Eliteserien Team of the Year.
The ex-Nordsjælland centre-back, known for his aerial power and commanding leadership, has steadily grown into one of Scandinavia’s most dependable defenders.
Nashville’s recruitment team reportedly view Woledzi as a perfect fit for their model of signing young, high-upside players with international pedigree.
Negotiations between Nashville SC and Fredrikstad FK are understood to be ongoing, with a final decision expected in the coming days.
