English Championship side Newcastle have agreed a deal with Chelsea to sign Christian Atsu on loan, according to ESPN.
The 24-year-old winger is set to complete his one year loan move to the St. James' Park outfit.
The two clubs have now agreed a season-long loan deal for the Ghana international with a view to a permanent deal, and the player has been given permission to travel to Tyneside to undergo a medical.
He was earlier linked to Cagliari, Torino, FC Luzern and other European clubs but he has opted to join the Magpies lads.
Astu has been farmed out to Vitesse, Everton, Bournemouth and Malaga since joining the Blues in 2013 on a five year deal from FC Porto.
