La Liga side Athletic Club have handed the number 10 jersey to Spanish-born of Ghanaian parentage, Nico Williams ahead of the 2024/25 football season.
The 22-year-old played an instrumental role recently in Spain's fourth Euros success having contributed three goals at the end of the tourney including one in the final against England.
He reunited with his teammates last week but didn't partake in their final two preseason matches against Aston Villa and Stuttgart.
The Red and Whites released their jersey numbers ahead of the new season earlier this morning and Nico Williams was handed the number 10 shirt- which was worn by Iker Muniain last season whiles his senior brother Iñaki Williams maintains his number 9.
With him reportedly to have said 'Yes' to giants FC Barcelona couple of days, ditching the number '11' jersey to take the number '10', clearly indicates how unlikely it is for the mercurial winger to leave the Estadio San Mamerse this summer.
He is expected to return to club action this midweek when they host Getafe in their opening La Liga fixture on Thursday, August 15.
