The promising youngster of Ghanaian parentage has completed his transfer move to the Austrian Second-Tier outfit in this ongoing winter transfer window
Austrian-born Ghanaian youngster Sefiwu Abubakar has joined Austrian 2. Liga side Floridsdorfer AC from Third-Tier side Favoritner AC, the club have confirmed.
The 20-year-old attacker joins the FAC-Platz Stadium campaigners together with his new team-mate Joel Richards and both are expected to spend time at the first team and the Amateur side in the current 2024-25 campaign.
An official statement over the capturing of the duo via the club's official website read: ''This year, the Floridsdorfer Athletiksport-Club is expanding its professional squad with young talents. With Joel Richards and Sefiwu Abubakar, two promising players are strengthening the blue and white squad.''
''The Floridsdorf Athletiksport-Club is pleased to welcome two talented players to the extended professional squad. With Joel Richards, a familiar face returns to the blue and whites, while Sefiwu Abubakar is a new addition to the club.''
Sporting director Lukas Fischer expressed his confidence in the capabilities of the duo as he looks forward to working with them in the lower division contests for the remainder of the season.
''With Joel Richards and Sefiwu Abubakar, we are gaining two young, motivated players who will be promoted through our professional training, but will also strengthen our amateurs in the 2nd regional league."
Sefiwu scored 1 goal in 13 league games for Favoritner AC in this current Austrian Regional League East football campaign.
Given his Ghanaian heritage, he still remains fit to play for Ghana on the international stage.
