The 25-year-old midfielder has extended his stay with the German Fourth-Tier side, with the fresh term set to expire in June 2026
Ghanaian-born German attacking midfielder Michael Guthörl has penned a one-year contract extension with German Regionalliga Südwest (lV) side TSV Steinbach Haiger, the club have announced.
The former TSG 1899 Hoffenheim II man has lived up to his expectations since joining the Steinbach-based club from Rot-Weiß Koblenz in 2023.
Given his remarkable performances, the 25-year-old is now set to continue his journey at the SIBRE-Sportzentrum Haarwasen Haiger until June 30, 2026.
An official confirmation over the new deal of the Ghanaian midfielder read: ''Michael Guthörl has extended his contract with TSV Steinbach Haiger. This is the fourth extension for a player from the men from the northern Lahn-Dill district during the winter break.''
After appending his signature to the fresh term, the former SpVgg Greuther Fürth U19 youth man had this to say via the club's official website: I feel good and enjoy the trust of the coach. I want to repay this with a good performance. We want to achieve a lot together."
Sporting director Giuseppe Lepore added:''Michael Guthörl is a fast and robust player with a lot of offensive drive. Very ambitious and strong-willed, Michael underlines his importance to our team with consistently strong performances. Michael also has a top character and quickly and clearly expressed his support for further cooperation in the very trusting discussions. We are very much looking forward to our shared future with Michael.''
Michael has so far netted 1 goal in 16 league games for TSV Steinbach Haiger in this ongoing 2024-25 football season.
He's still qualified to play for Ghana on the international stage as he's yet to be cap-tied by the German national team having migrated to Germany at a very tender age with his parents.
