The 29-year-old defender of Ghanaian heritage has completed his move to the MLS outfit until the end of the next two football seasons


 Canadian-born Ghanaian right-back Richie Laryea has joined Major League Soccer side Toronto FC on a two-year contract from English Premier League side Nottingham Forest, the club have confirmed.

The experienced defender is reuniting with his former side after spending three seasons with them during the 2019, 2020 and 2021 football campaigns.

 According to the Toronto-based club, their terms with the former Vancouver Whitecaps loanee have an option of a year renewal at the end of the contract duration.

"Toronto FC announced today the club has agreed to terms on a transfer fee with English Premier League side Nottingham Forest FC and has signed Canadian international defender Richie Laryea through 2026 with an option for 2027. Laryea will be available for selection upon receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) and medical," a club's statement confirms the signing of experienced stopper.

Laryea has 48 international caps with the Canada Men’s National Team (CMNT) making him ineligible to switch allegiance and represent Ghana on the international stage.
