The relegated Danish 1st Division side have landed the signature of the talented teenager of Ghanaian descent in this ongoing transfer window
Danish-born Ghanaian teen Akwasi Owusu has joined Danish 2nd Division club Vendsyssel FF on a one-year, the club have confirmed.
The 19-year-old midfielder is teaming up with the Nord Energi Arena outfit on a free transfer deal after parting company with top division side FC Midtjylland this summer.
"Vendsyssel FF has strengthened the squad with 19-year-old midfielder Akwasi Owusu, who joins the club on a 1-year deal," an official confirmation over his signing read.
The Ghana-prospect teenager expressed his joy right after sealing his move to his new employers, telling the club's official website: " "I am happy to have signed with Vendsyssel FF. It is an exciting club that I hope to be able to contribute positively to, so that we can fight at the top this season and give our fans a lot to look forward to."
Sporting director Jens Hammer Sørensen added: "Akwasi is an exciting, young midfielder who we are happy to have attached to the squad. He has his strengths in playing with the ball as well as in his dynamism and hard work. In addition, Akwasi is well-schooled through his time in FC Midtjylland's and FC Nordsjælland's youth academies, so we look forward to him developing and unleashing his potential in the white Vendsyssel FF jersey."
Given his Ghanaian heritage, Owusu still remains eligible to represent Ghana on the international stage.
