The 26-year-old defender of Ghanaian heritage has completed his move to the Turkish top-tier campaigners, with his deal set to come to a close in 2027
Turkish Super Lig side Kasımpaşa SK have announced the signing of Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Godfried Frimpong on a two-year contract, with an option of extension to a further year upon its expiration.
The ex-Benfica U17 star is linking up with the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Stadium outfit on a free transfer after parting ways with Portuguese elite division club Moreirense FC at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.
An official statement over the signing of the Ghana-prospect defender read via the club's official website: ''Our new transfer, Godfried Frimpong, signed a contract binding him to Kasımpaşa for 2+1 years at the signing ceremony held at our Turgay Ciner Sports Facilities, following his check-ups at our health sponsor Liv Hospital Vadi İstanbul. We welcome our new signing, Frimpong, and wish him success!''
Having played for The Netherlands U16 & U18 national youth teams, The Hague-born left-back remains fit to represent Ghana on the international stage given his Ghanaian heritage.
