The German giants are reportedly tracking the 21-year-old winger of Ghanaian descent in a bid to land his signature from the Dutch outfit this summer

Bundesliga heavyweights Bayer Leverkusen are tracking German-born Ghanaian winger Ernest Poku, according to an emerging report from the Dutch media.

The promising winger, currently on the books of Dutch Eredivisie side AZ Alkmaar, is believed to be greatly admired by manager Erik ten Hag and he is working assiduously to secure him in order to augment his defensive setup with his signing next season.

Per news outlet soccernews.nl, the two clubs are working over the deal for the transfer move of the youngster and an agreement is expected to be reached soon between both parties in this current transfer market.

lt is understood that those in charge of the BayArena have identified the Ghanaian winger as the ideal man to replace departed defender Jeremie Frimpong who joined Premier League giants Liverpool this summer.

Aside Bayer Leverkusen, Turkish Super Lig outfit Beşiktaş are also in the running for the services of the 21-year-old ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Given his Ghanaian heritage, the Hamburg-born winger still remains eligible to play for Ghana on the international stage having played for The Netherlands national youth teams.
