The newly-promoted Romanian top-tier side have announced the signing of the experienced striker of Ghanaian descent until the end of the current campaign
Ghanaian centre-forward Kevin Luckassen has joined Romanian Liga l side FC Argeș Pitești, the club have confirmed.
The 32-year-old experienced former AZ Alkmaar youth product is joining the newly-promoted top division side on a free transfer after leaving relegated top-flight outfit Gloria Buzău this summer.
An official statement over the signing of the ex-FC Rapid striker read via the club's official website: ''FC Argeș strengthened its attack with Dutchman Kevin Brobbey, a 32-year-old player.
''Raised in the youth ranks of AZ Alkmaar, Kevin made his senior debut at Ross County in the Scottish Premier League. He then moved to Slovan Liberec, where he played for three years. After playing for St. Polten (Austria), Northampton (England) and Almere Omniworld (Netherlands), the Eindhoven-born striker arrived in Romania.
''The good season at Politehnica Iași brought him to the attention of Viitorul Constanța. 9 goals in 18 games spent in the sailors' jersey were enough to convince the Turks from Kayserispor to acquire him. After 14 games in Turkey, Kevin went on loan to Sepsi OSK Sfântu Gheorghe.
''Then came experiences at Rapid and UTA, so that in 2024 he would go to Saudi Arabia to Al-Batin. Later he transferred to Gloria Buzău, managing to score 5 goals in 11 games. In his career, Brobbey has won a Dutch Cup with Alkmaar, a Romanian Cup with Sepsi, a Czech Cup and a Czech Super Cup with Liberec.
''The new Argeș striker has also played for the Dutch U19 and U18 national teams. 350,000 euros is Kevin Brobbey's market value, according to the specialist website transfermarkt.com. Welcome to the Vulturilor Family and good luck in the white-purple jersey!''
Given his Ghanaian root, he still remains eligible to play for Ghana at the international level after featuring for the Dutch U18 and U19 national youth teams.
