Kojo Peprah Oppong made an appearance for OGC Nice hours after receiving his first call-up to Ghana’s senior national team.
The 21-year-old defender played 80 minutes in Nice’s 2-1 Europa League defeat to Fenerbahce on Thursday at the Chobani Stadium in Istanbul, recording four clearances, two blocks and two interceptions before being substituted, as he made way for Antoine Mendy late on.
Oppong has been named in Ghana’s 24-man squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Central African Republic on October 8 in Morocco and Comoros on October 12 in Accra. Medeama midfielder Prince Owusu also joins Peprah as the other newcomer to Otto Addo’s squad.
Oppong, who has quietly established himself at Nice, is likely to feature again in Ligue 1 against Monaco on Sunday before travelling for international duty.
