The experienced forward of Ghanaian heritage has completed his move to the English fifth tier side on a short-term deal in this January window
English National League side Rochdale AFC have announced the signing of Dutch-born Ghanaian veteran striker Manny Duku on a six-month contract.
The 33-year-old is joining the Spotland Stadium outfit on a free transfer this winter after being unattached with any side since he left fellow lower division club Tamworth FC during the summer of 2025.
An official confirmation over his capturing by The Dale reads: ''Rochdale Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Manny Duku. The striker signs on a deal until the end of the current campaign, following his spell with fellow National League side Tamworth. He has bagged six times in 17 league starts for The Lambs this season, as well as netting in his only National League Cup appearance.''
Right after appending his signature to the deal, the former FC Utrecht Youth man has said to his club's official website: ''It’s a great feeling (to sign). The club have a beautiful style of play, as a forward it’s nice to see how the chances get created for you, so I’m looking forward to getting some goals. Seeing how Rochdale play reminds me of home so I’ll be back home basically on the pitch. I’m looking forward to being part of the games, to see the fans and celebrate with them, it’s what I wanted to come here for.''
Club manager Jimmy McNulty added: ''We believe Manny Duku possesses some of the qualities we look for in a striker. The hold up qualities, set-piece threat in both boxes, he’ll really help us. He’s managed to get six goals in the league with not much XG, we think he’ll get a few more for us.”
The signing of the veteran centre-forward will now be a morale booster for the English gaffer as he would be of great help to his cause in securing qualification to the fourth tier at the end of the season.
Born and raised in Amsterdam to Ghanaian parents, Duku is yet to figure for either Ghana or The Netherlands on the international stage.
