The 29-year-old experienced defender of Ghanaian parentage is set to put pen to paper on fresh terms over extension with the Romanian giants in this winter window

Ghanaian-born Togolese defender Kennedy Boateng is set to sign contract extension with Romanaian Liga l side Dinamo București, with a four-year deal set to be inked at the Arena Națională this January.

The former LASK centre-back, who joined Dinamo on a two-and-a-half-year deal in the summer of 2024, has lived up to his billings in the Romanian top-flight having attracted serious interest from league rivals FC Steaua București given his magnificent showings so far.

Club president Andrei Nicolescu has confirmed that an agreement over contract extension has been reached between them and his representatives and the fresh terms are expected to be put to paper in the coming days.

Speaking to local-based station Radio Dinamo 1948, the club's chief stated: ''Yes, I think we've reached an agreement.  We'll put it on paper when we get back. We'll see. Both sides left the table smiling. It's very important for us as a player. On the other hand, we have to take into account all the details of such a move. Believe me, there are a lot of calculations behind it.''

He added on Prima Sport: ''We are putting a contract on the table, an extension that seems to us to be something very... He would become the highest paid player at Dinamo, yes.

''It is a delicate matter, including for the locker room and we do not want to break that. We are making efforts for him, I hope he understands this and that he has the opportunity to play with Dinamo in European cups and it will be another stepping stone for him. We will see.''

ln this ongoing campaign, the former WAFA SC graduate has so far taken in 22 appearances for Dinamo across all contests this term.

He remains unfit to play for Ghana on the international stage having been cap-tied 14 times by the Togo senior national team in his international football career so far.
