The German elite division side have announced a long-term contract with the talented teenager of Ghanaian descent having rose through their youth ranks in Germany

Spainish-born Ghanaian teenager Derek Boakiye-Osei has signed a long-term contract with Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt following an impressive performance at their youth team level.

The Waldstadion outfit have said "the talented centre-back will continue to wear the eagle on his chest for years to come," given his rapid growth with the U-17 side in the B-Junior Bundesliga South/Southwest contest.

Head of youth academy at Eintracht Frankfurt, Alexander Richter, had this to tell his club's communications network right after tying down the talented teenager to a long-term contract: "Derek is a promising defensive talent in which we see great potential. He is robust, fast and exudes incredible security on the ball. In the past, Derek was used several times by older teams, which took him a few steps forward in his development. In the coming years we would like to carefully introduce him to men's football. We are very happy that he wants to continue his journey in the Eintracht jersey.”

Derek featured in 6 games for Eintracht Frankfurt in this season's UEFA Youth League group stage encounters.

The Vilafranca del Penedès-born youth star could still switch allegiance and play for Ghana at any level on the international stage despite featuring for the Spanish U-17 national youth team.
