The 30-year-old stopper of Ghanaian descent has inked a fresh term with the German second-tier outfit ahead of the upcoming summer window

German-born Ghanaian centre-back Daniel Heber has extended his stay with 2. Bundesliga side FC Magdeburg, with the new deal remains undisclosed as the club confirmed.

Following his impressive performances since his move to the Avnet Arena in January 2023, the former Rot-Weiss Essen man has now been rewarded with fresh terms ahead of the start of the 2025-26 campaign.

''Daniel Heber has extended his contract with 1. FC Magdeburg. The 30-year-old moved to Magdeburg in January 2023 and has so far made 81 competitive appearances (three goals, two assists) for the club,'' an excerpt of an official confirmation over his new deal read.

The defender had this to say right after putting pen to paper on his contract extension via the club's official website: ''"I'm very happy to be staying at FCM. The club is a storied club with sensational fans. We have a great team with enormous potential. That excited me from the start.''

Sporting director Otmar Schork added: ''We look forward to continuing our successful collaboration. Daniel is a great fit for our core values, both athletically and personally. We want to continue on this path together.''

Daniel has so far been involved in 29 games for FC Magdeburg across all competitions in this current football season.

Given his Ghanaian heritage, he still remains fit to feature for Ghana at international level as he is yet to be cap-tied by the Germany national team.
