The 23-year-old forward of Ghanaian origin has sealed his move to the German fourth tier campaigners after excelling in his trial sessions this summer

Regionalliga Nord club VfB Lübeck have announced the signing of German-born Ghanaian forward Ware Pakia on a one-year contract.

The former Borussia Dortmund U17 star is joining the Stadion Lohmühle outfit on a free transfer after leaving Hamburger SV at the end of the 2024-25 football season.

An official statement over his signing read: ''VfB Lübeck continues to push ahead with its squad planning and has brought another talented player to the Lohmühle shortly before the start of the season: Ware Pakia will wear the green and white jersey from now on. The 23-year-old attacker has signed a contract with VfB until June 30, 2026.

''Pakia hails from Dortmund and initially trained as a youth player at his hometown club Borussia Dortmund. There, he progressed through several youth teams and quickly attracted attention, playing for the German national team's U16 and U17 teams.

''He later moved to the youth academy of Hamburger SV, where he played for the U19 team in the Bundesliga and then for the U21 team in the Regionalliga Nord. He therefore brings with him the experience of 38 Regionalliga matches.

''In recent weeks, the right-footer has already played several test matches in the VfB jersey – and impressed with his great speed, dribbling ability and his ability to win offensive one-on-one situations.''

Sporting director Sebastian Harms said after landing the talented youngster via his club's official website: ''We are delighted that Ware is now a permanent fixture at VfB. He's had a difficult time recently, but we are convinced that together we will ensure that he returns to his original level. His exceptional strengths in speed and attacking one-on-one play can decide games – he has already demonstrated this several times in the test matches of the last few weeks. Furthermore, he fits in very well with our team on a personal level."

Having played for the Germany U16 & U17 national youth teams, the Dortmund-born forward still remains eligible to represent Ghana on the international stage.
