The budding teenage sensation of Ghanaian descent has joined the German fourth tier side on a free transfer in the ongoing summer transfer window
German Regionalliga West side SC Fortuna Koln have completed the signing of German-born Ghanaian winger Kingsley Sarpei on a one year deal until the end of June 2023.
The 19-year-old promising prospect is joining the Südstadion outfit from fellow lower division side Wuppertaler SV following the mutual termination of his contract with the latter earlier today.
Having put pen to paper on the deal, the ex-Fortuna Dusseldorf youth product had this to say to the club's communications network:
"“I hope to get more time at Fortuna. It's a good and nice feeling to be working with such a traditional club. My uncle played here. Being able to play here as a second Sarpei is something big. I want to help the club to get the best out of it.”
Sarpei, who happens to be the Nephew of former Ghana international Hans Nuno Sarpei, is relishing the opportunity of following his Uncle's footsteps at Fortuna Koln having featured for them during his active days as a footballer.
Born in Leverkusen, the budding talent is still eligible to switch allegiance to represent Ghana at the international level as he is yet to be capped by the Germany national team.
