The German fourth-tier campaigners have announced the loan signing of the 22-year-old wideman of Ghanaian heritage in this ongoing winter transfer window
German-born Ghanaian winger Davis Asante has joined Regionalliga West (lV) side SV Rödinghausen from 3. Liga side SSV Jahn Regensburg on a loan deal until the end of the season, the club have confirmed.
The 22-year-old Werder Bremen youth product has so far found playing minutes hard to come by at his current side and has now been moved on to the lowly division club for the remainder of the current campaign.
An official statement over his loan deal reads: ''SV Rödinghausen have signed Davis Asante on loan from Jahn Regensburg until the end of the season. The 22-year-old is a versatile attacking player and has made seven appearances in the 3. Liga this season.
''Asante joined Regensburg from Werder Bremen in the summer, where he has a contract until 2027. The former youth international will wear the number 23 jersey for Rödinghausen. SV Rödinghausen thanks Jahn Regensburg for the good and productive talks.''
Head coach Lars Fleischer has said of the loan capturing of the talented youngster to his club's official media channel: ''We are very happy to have more options for our attack with Davis. He can be used both on the wings and as a striker and has great pace as well as strong one-on-one skills.''
Given his Ghanaian heritage, the Bremen-born native remains fit to represent Ghana on the international stage despite playing for the Germany U16 national youth team.
