Belgian Pro League side Cercle Brugge have announced the signing of German-born Ghanaian youngster Charles Herrmann from Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach on a three-and-a-half-year contract.

The ex-Borussia Dortmund budding star, who joined the Foals on a four-and-a-half-year deal from their top division rivals in the summer of 2024, has now been moved on to his current suitors on a permanent basis having passed his mandatory medical examinations earlier today ahead of the closure of the January transfer window.

A statement confirming the capturing of the Ghana-prospect youngster reads: ''Charles Herrmann (20) has joined the green-and-black ranks. The German winger makes the move from Borussia Mönchengladbach and has signed a contract until June 2029. Charles is a left-footed winger, known for his speed and technical ability. Thanks to his versatility, he can operate on both the left and right flank.

''The German player with Ghanaian roots came through the youth academies of Hannover 96 and Borussia Dortmund, before joining Borussia Mönchengladbach in the summer of 2024. With Die Fohlen, he mainly featured for the second team, but also made two appearances for the first team. On his Bundesliga debut, the attacker immediately delivered an assist.

''In 2023, our newest signing added both the U17 World Cup and European Championship to his honours with the German U17 national team.''

Club's Technical Director Luciano Murchio has said of his new signing to his club's media channel: ''We are very pleased to welcome Charles to Cercle. He is a versatile and well-rounded attacking player with a strong left foot, pace and an attacking mindset. We are confident that Charles will make an important contribution to both our short-term and long-term objectives, and we look forward to supporting him in this next step of his career. Welcome, Charles!''

Prior to his transfer move to the Bruges-based club this January, he featured in 16 games by scoring 2 and setting up another 3 for Borussia Mönchengladbach across all competitions in this current campaign.
