The German fourth division campaigners have landed the signature of the 29-year-old defender ahead of the upcoming football season

Ghanaian centre-back Bernard Kyere has joined Regionalliga Nord side FC Phönix Lübeck on a two-year contract, the club have confirmed.

The former FC Kaiserslautern U17 star is joining the German lower division outfit on a free transfer move after leaving Luxembourg top-flight side Victoria Rosport at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

A club's statement  read: ''The FC Phönix Lübeck is signing the experienced and 88-time third league player Bernard Kyere until 2027. The 29-year-old centre-back was last active with Luxembourg's first league team Victoria Rosport and will stabilize the Eagles' defense.''

Sporting director Frank Salomon said of the signing of the hard-tackling defender via the club's official website: ''He's strong in the air and confident in tackling, and he also has good pace. With his calmness, leadership skills, and experience, 'Bernie' will ensure that we can continue to rely on a solid defense.''

Kyere played an integral role for Victoria Rosport having featured in 31 games across all contests in the just concluded 2024-25 campaign.

He remains eligible to be cap-tied by the Ghana Senior Men's National Team at the international level.
