The 19-year-old defender has completed his season-long loan deal with the German second-tier side in this winter transfer window
Bundesliga 2 side Fortuna Dusseldorf have announced the loan signing of Ghanaian centre-back Joshua Quarshie from TSG Hoffenheim, with the deal set to expire on June 30, 2025.
The guardsman is reuniting with his former employers after once spending time with their youth team ranks during the 2019/2020 football campaign.
Announcing the loan deal with the stopper, the Merkur-Spiel Arena campaigners have said the contract is devoid of purchase option upon its expiration.
"Fortuna Düsseldorf will now strengthen their defense with Joshua Quarshie. The 19-year-old central defender is on loan from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim for a year and a half until June 30, 2025. There is no purchase option. Returnee Quarshie already played in Fortuna's youth team in the 2019/20 season."
The Ghana prospect had this to tell his former club's communications network after signing the season-long loan deal earlier today: "I’m happy to be back at Fortuna. Düsseldorf is part of my home region. The club has very ambitious goals and I am also very ambitious myself. I see a good opportunity here to develop at a high level and would like to help the club.”
Quarshie remains eligible to switch allegiance and play for Ghana at the international level despite playing for the Germany U18, U19 & U20 national youth teams.
