The experienced midfield enforcer has completed his switch to the Romanian elite division outfit on a deal set to run through to 2027
Romanian Liga l side Petrolul Ploiesti have announced the signing of Ghanaian midfielder Nana Boateng on a one-and-a-half year contract.
The former Manchester City U18 star is joining the Yellow Wolves on a free transfer after leaving South Korean top division club Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors during the summer of 2025.
ln confirming the capturing of the Right to Dream academy product, those in charge of the Ilie Oană Stadium have said via their club's official website: ''Welcome, Nana Boateng! FC Petrolul Ploiesti has reached an agreement with the player Nana Boateng (31 years old), who signed a contract with our club for one and a half seasons. Champion with CFR Cluj in 2022, Boateng thus returns to the Superliga, after last playing in South Korea, at Jeonbuk Hyundai.
''Born in Accra, Ghana, Bismark Adjei-Boateng played his youth career at Manchester City, a club with which he was under contract until the beginning of 2017, and throughout his career he has also played for Stromgodset (Norway), Colorado (USA) and KUPS (Finland). The ex-Strømsgodset IF loanee enforcer is staging a return to the Romanian top-flight contest following a spell with fellow top-tier rivals CFR Cluj during the 2020-21 football season.
The Accra-born native midfielder is yet to earn his cap with the Ghana senior men's national team, the Black Stars on the international stage.
