The Italian third-tier outfit have reinforced their midfield options with the acquisition of the midfield enforcer in this current transfer window

Ghanaian midfielder Nana Welbeck has joined Italian Serie C side Lucchese 1905 on a two-year deal, the club have confirmed.

The enforcer is linking up with the Red-Blacks on a free transfer after parting company with fellow lower division side Catania this summer.

Those in charge of the Stadio Porta Elisa announced the signing of the experienced midfielder via their Instagram page:

" Lucchese 1905 officially announces the purchase of midfielder Nana Welbeck, who has signed a two-year contract

"The player, born in 94', grew up as a footballer in the Brescia youth team, making his Serie A debut on May 22, 2011, at just 16 years old, against Fiorentina, coming on in the 61st minute to replace Alessandro Diamanti."

"Welbeck has over 200 appearances among the professionals and has gained important experiences in the Slovenian and Danish championships, before returning to Italy in 2019 to Catania and winning the championship with Catanzaro in 2023."

"Welcome Nana and good luck!"

Welbeck remains eligible to represent Ghana at the international level.
