The newly promoted Portuguese top division side have announced the signing of the 26-year-old midfield enforcer from the Brazilian outfit in an undisclosed period of contract
Ghanaian midfielder Sabit Abdulai has joined Liga Portugal club Alverca from Brazil second tier side Botafogo FC in this ongoing transfer window.
The former Getafe man is linking up with his current employers in an undisclosed duration of contract as he is set to take the next step in his career in the upcoming Portuguese elite division contest.
An official statement over his transfer move read: ''FC Alverca – Futebol, SAD is pleased to announce the signing of Sabit Abdulai. The 26-year-old athlete is from Techiman, Ghana. Playing primarily in defensive midfield, the player is characterized by his physical strength and versatility, and can also play in central defense.''
''Having started out in the youth academy of Spartans FC, in his home country, he soon made his way into Spanish competitions, joining Extremadura UD. After impressing with the Valientes , he was signed by Getafe, competing in La Liga, Spain's top tier and one of Europe's most prestigious leagues.''
''In Spain, he also played for Ponferradina, Lugo and Real Murcia, before heading to Brazil in 2024, where he represented Botafogo-SP. Sabit Abdulai also has several international caps for Ghana's youth teams.''
Sabit briefly expressed his excitement over the deal by saying to his club's official website: ''I'm very happy to be at FC Alverca, on such an ambitious project.''
His signing will now come as a morale booster for manager Custódio Castro as he is set to play an important role in his set-up in their bid to have a positive season in the top-flight.
He has had spells with Spanish clubs such as; Extremadura, Getafe, Ponferradina, CD Lugo, and Real Murcia in his footballing career so far.
Sabit is yet to earn his cap with the Ghana Senior National Team after featuring for the Ghana U20 & U23 national teams respectively.
