The relegated Swedish top division side have announced the signing of the forward of Ghanaian origin in this current summer transfer window

German-born Ghanaian forward Kevin Appiah Nyarko has joined Swedish Superettan side Varbergs BoIS, the club have confirmed.

The 22-year-old former SC Fortuna Köln youth star sealed a free transfer move to the relegated Allsvanskan side after his contract ran out with lower division outfit lK Brage this term.

"Varberg's BoIS has done with striker Kevin Appiah Nyarko, who joins on a free transfer," an official confirmation over his signing reads.

Nyarko expressed his joy over his deal and is determined to give it all to his new side when he kickstarts his journey this term, telling the club's official website; "I am very happy to come to a big club like Varbergs BoIS. I feel ready to start playing and help the team win more games. It is a very lovely city with nice people and I am very excited to start this journey."

Sporting director Thomas Askebrand added this on his new found striker; "As we have said before, we have had some problems with injuries throughout the spring, the autumn is also long and with Kevin we get a fourth player. Kevin also fits the way we want to play, he is hard to face, physically strong, good at turning the ball, runs deep but also does the job defensively. This creates opportunities for us in our offensive game.

"Varberg's BoIS warmly welcomes Kevin to the club!"

Born and raised in Germany to Ghanian parents, the 22-year-old remains eligible to represent Ghana at the international level.
