The Danish Third-Tier side have announced the loan signing of the Ghanaian youngster until the end of the current campaign on transfer deadline day
Ghanaian defender Eugene Ampofoh Amankwah has joined Danish Danish 2nd Division side Thisted FC on loan from Danish Superliga side Aalborg BK for the rest of the ongoing football season.
The 20-year-old, who was promoted to the first team this term, has struggled for game time and has now been shipped out to the lower division campaigners for playing minutes.
A statement over his loan deal read: ''Thisted FC is renting an exciting profile from AaB. Eugene Amankwah is moving to Thisted FC for the rest of the season.''
Club's CEO Søren Willette Pedersen expressed his excitement over the loan deal of the Ghanaian youngster, stating on his club's official website: ''We are very happy that we have managed to make an agreement with AaB to rent Eugene Amankwah. He is an exciting player with many different qualities and is a regular part of the Superliga squad in Aalborg on a daily basis."
"The agreement has been reached through a good and constructive dialogue about a collaboration that creates value across all parties. Eugene possesses many diverse skills, which we look forward to seeing him contribute in the Thisted FC jersey.''
Manager Daniel Kristensen added: ''Eugene is an exciting player that we are looking forward to bringing into the squad. He brings valuable experience from both the Superliga and the AaB squad as well as the Ghanaian U23 national team, which gives him a strong ballast that we can benefit from.''
''He is still young and has a lot to learn – but the agreement is also based on a joint dialogue with AaB about Eugene’s development stage. He is a player that they expect a lot from in AaB and that is why I am also looking forward to working with a great talent with a high footballing level.''
''His speed, dueling strength and defensive stability will strengthen our team, while he also has the qualities to contribute offensively. He is used to training and competing at the highest level in Denmark, and that experience will benefit us in the spring games.''
''We look forward to seeing Eugene pull on the Thisted FC jersey and are convinced that he will be an important piece in our efforts to create strong performances in the remainder of the season.''
The budding stopper joins AaB from Ghanaian lower division side Benab FC in August 2023.
