The 31-year-old midfield enforcer has sealed his move to the newly-promoted Italian top-tier side ahead of the new football season

 Ghana international midfielder Alfred Duncan has joined Italian Serie A side Venezia FC on a two-year deal, with an option of extension to a further season upon its expiration, the club have confirmed.

The former lnter Milan enforcer is linking up with the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo outfit on a free transfer after severing ties with fellow top-flight side Fiorentina this summer.

An official confirmation over Duncan's deal read; "Venezia FC announces the signing of Ghanaian midfielder Alfred Duncan. Duncan has signed an agreement until the end of the 2025/2026 season with option on renewal."

"Duncan, 31 years old, raised in the youth sector of Inter and has subsequently worn the shirts of Livorno, Sampdoria, Sassuolo, Cagliari and Fiorentina, with 304 appearances, 14 goals and 17 assists in Serie A."

"At the international level, the new arancioneroverde midfielder has made eight appearances in the Conference League and five appearances between Europa League Qualifiers and Finals."

"Duncan has also worn the Ghana senior national team jersey 10 times."

 The former Sassuolo man had this to tell his new club right after appending his signature to the deal; " l chose to come to Venezia FC because of the project that was presented to me by the club and the coach and I am really proud to be part of it. In past years I have been shown how it is never easy to play at the Penzo because of the energy of the fans. That’s why I ask to all of them to always support us because we will give everything to get to the goal.”

 Duncan has a vast experience in the Italian elite division contest following stints with Sampdoria, Cagliari, Fiorentina and lnter Milan.

 He made made 10 appearances for Ghana men's senior national team before prematurely ended his international career with the four-time African champions in May 2022.
